Photo Shoots
First of, this week I’m going to be including a couple of ‘walk throughs’ from some recent shoots; one with talented female singer Chanel Fusco who I’ve had the great pleasure of working with before and the other being an Ice Hockey player.

Both shoots were done in the studio and I’ll be covering all the set ups and some of the post production involved, particularly for the Ice Hockey player where we came up with an ingenious way of keeping warm using the white tile board; I’ll explain all later

Photography iPad App
If you’ve got an iPad and appreciate great photography then you’re definitely going to want this new App from National Geographic.

Called the ‘50 Greatest Photographs‘ the App showcases some of the most incredible images that have graced the pages of National Geographic Magazine over the years plus information on the photographer and the story behind each shot.

Warning: If you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself totally immersed looking through the images and at a high risk of missing your train stop; but the least said about that the better

‘The Grid’ Premieres Today!
Don’t forget to set your alarms for ‘The Grid’; the new LIVE Photography Show hosted by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski.

The first show airs today 12.30pm EST (5.30pm UK) and news is that Jeremy Cowart is the show’s first Guest.

Now as if that wasn’t enough each week a Guest Photographer appears on the show to pass on some of their own tips, techniques and words of wisdom; photographers such as Joe McNally, Moose Peterson, Cliff Mautner and Joe Glyda to name just a few.

There’s a weekly segment showing by N.A.P.P.’s Executive Director Larry Becker called ‘Cheap Shots’ and with weekly competitions and prizes that range from books to camera gear and finishing each show with a recommended Photographer’s website to check out, if you’re serious about education and keeping ontop of your game then you should definitely check out the free D-Town TV Video Podcast.

A great Podcast that I watch on a regular basis by Photoshop Guru Richard Harrington. With regular episodes being added full of tips, tricks and techniques Understanding Photoshop is a superb resource to help you get the most out of Photoshop.

Ask Dave:
Dave Cross aka ‘A Foreign Man from a Foreign Land’ is well known as one of the Photoshop Guys along with Matt Kloskowski and Scott Kelby. Long regarded as the ‘Go to Guy’ Dave is a font of all knowledge with all things Photoshop. In this Podcast Dave answers 1 question each time that he’s been asked through channels such as Twitter, N.A.P.P. forums and his own blog. A superb no nonsense podcast that will help to increase your knowledge in bite size chunks.

Chase Jarvis:
Added to on a fairly regular basis this is the Podcast of Seattle based Professional Photographer Chase Jarvis. With a long list of videos showing such things as Behind the Scenes footage and insights into large scale Commercial Work,there’s a healthy library of material to keep you glued to the screen for quite some time.

With the launch of my new Workshop drawing closer (end of August/beginning of September) I’m in the Studio again tomorrow with model Danny Bartlett so I’ll be sure to post a few samples of the photos we take. Also I’ll be recording a new video this weekend showing the editing that went into the recent photograph of my good friend and neighbour, Steve so be sure to check in for that.

Well the weekend is nearly upon us which can only mean one thing…it’s time for Follow Friday.

This time rather than sharing my Twitter or YouTube recommendations I’m changing it up again so this week it’s iTunes Podcast #FF (Follow Friday).

I’m a HUGE iTunes fan and use it a lot not just for downloading and playing music but for subscribing to a number of video podcasts and watching them during some quiet time such as on the train using my iPhone or maybe at home on the television using my Apple TV.

Photoshop User TV:
A weekly show produced by the NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and hosted by Scott Kelby, Matt Kloskowski and Dave Cross aka the Photoshop Guys. Covering a whole spectrum of topics and tutorials Photoshop and Photography related plus Special Guests, it’s a great mix of humour and teaching making this a ‘must’ watch if you’re wanting to keep up to date.

D-Town TV:
Hosted by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski of the NAPP this video podcast first started out as Nikon D-Town TV covering everything Nikon DSLR related. The second season saw the name change to D-Town so now the guys cover ‘all’ things digital photography. A great resource of tips and tricks plus special guest features and a recommended inspirational website to check out at the end, this has quickly become a very popular podcast but no surprise when you check out all the previous episodes which are freely available to download through iTunes.

Lightroom Killer Tips:
An authority in Lightroom, Matt Kloskowski’s ‘Lightroom Killer tips’ video podcast has been a regular ‘must watch’ for some time. Although the podcast isn’t added to on a regular weekly basis, accompanying his Lightroom Killer Tips blog makes it a great resource for anyone using Lightroom and wanting to use it to it fullest.

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll share a few more of my recommended video podcasts but in the mean time are there any you watch on a regular basis?
Video Podcasts are a great way to keep up to date and learn so if there are any you would recommend then why not share them here in the comments section below; with thousands upon thousands available to us and with more added each day I’m sure there are going to be some real gems out there waiting to be discovered.
